Autumn comes

This past week Summer maintained a fragile hold, but earlier today thunder rumbled overhead and Thor ushered in Autumn.   Fog swirled around the tops of the fir trees, a gentle rain fell, and a breeze rustled the maples scattering leaves upon the deck just swept yesterday.

For the first time in weeks, I donned a light jacket for our afternoon walk. There are several stormy days ahead. Thunder is again rolling not far in the distance and the sky has darkened. When the clouds break mid-week and the sun returns, we will know without a doubt the seasons have changed. It is time to cozy up the house with throws and candle glow.
