Beautiful Autumn, what John Keats called “the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,” has arrived right on schedule. We’ve already had our first mornings with mist rolling in from our neighborhood pond, welcome rains have returned, and the first gusty winds have already begun to tug the leaves from our beautiful flame maple sending them spinning about. This is my season, a welcome time of firelight and candle glow, rosy apples and sugar pie pumpkins, sweaters and walking boots…and books! Yes, with the garden soon tidied up, there will be time to curl up and read. Well….one could hope!
Dear readers, with full transparency, I will tell you my family has had a most challenging summer and now early fall. There have been health concerns for three close family members, my mother, my husband, and one of our sons. There have been trips to urgent care, to specialists and to hospital for scans and tests, and concerns continue and procedures await. To reduce stress somewhat, I am going to close my webshop for at least two weeks in October. At this writing, I can’t even tell you when exactly this closure will begin or when I will reopen. This I can say, the closure will not happen before October 5, and I will be able to ship all orders received in a timely fashion. I sincerely apologize for the short notice.
Harvest teas are on the website ready for you, and if you’ve been waiting to order Grandma’s Pumpkin Pie, Hazelnut Crunch Rooibos, or other seasonal favorites, I urge you to order soon. For my locals, if you’d like to pick up from me in person in my sweet little studio or on the front porch, please select local pickup at checkout. I will then be in touch with you to set up a time that works for both of us.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.
