It’s snowing on Whidbey Island! At first, they were forecasting just an inch or two, but now we may get 4 to 8 inches! There is perhaps 1 1/2 inches so far, and the neighborhood kids are already out. Doesn’t take much snow to excite kids here on the island, we’ve not had a decent snowfall in several years! The photo below is of one of my glass ornament birdies that now “lives” in a vine maple next to our back deck.
It is just beautiful out! We live on the edge of the forest and all the evergreen trees are coated with the white stuff. The snow on the bare branches of maples and alders has transformed the sleeping trees into large pieces of lace.
Perhaps island children will have a snow day tomorrow. An extension of Thanksgiving break would be most welcomed, I’m sure!
