We have only been serving scones on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, by chance, in recent months. However, next week we will be serving our yummy lemon cream scones with home-made lemon curd everyday! Lemon cream scones are without a doubt, our most popular flavor, and nothing beats freshly made lemon curd. So, treat Mom or another special woman in your life to these treats. If you call ahead and make a reservation, the fragrance of your scones will welcome you upon your arrival. Drop-ins are always welcome, but keep in mind, we bake to order and it will take about 20 minutes to bake your scones.
Today, all the ingredients for our newest house blend, Strawberry Rose, were finally assembled and we immediately started playing in the kitchen! Strawberry Rose will be our first flavored tea. We have a lightly flavored base of China black tea to which we will be adding beautiful rose colored bits of freeze dried strawberries and just a sprinkle of rose petals. This tea pays homage to our wonderful little island grown berries. Locals scramble for these little gems when they come to market! Another thing special about this tea is this: 20% of proceeds from all sales of Strawberry Rose will be donated to the American Cancer Society via South Whidbey Relay for Life. There are several dear members of our extended Island Tea family who have been waging brave battles with cancer. Through this small effort of ours we hope to contribute to a cure. To all of you who fight, we honor you, and to all who study and search for this cure, thank you.
South Whidbey Relay for Life 2006 will be held June 23 & 24 at South Whidbey High School. (http://www.islandcancer.org/south/index_south.htm)
Have a lovely week-end!
