Warm greetings to you! Welcome to my little home on the web. However you may have found your way here, I am so happy to have you visit.
About me….
I live on an island, at the edge of the forest, a stone’s throw from the Salish Sea. For more than 30 years my husband and I, and our two grown boys, have called this lovely piece of Washington State home. I work from a small light-filled studio, painted the color of the early morning sky. There I write, dry herbs, blend teas, and happily create all manner of things. My gardens and the nearby woods are a constant source of contentment, inspiration, mystery and magic.
After 25 years of running a small tea business, 12 years from my little Freeland shop and 13 years online from home, I have finally closed my business. Family needs have brought a lovely chapter of my life to a close. This next while, I plan to focus on my mother (now in memory care), my family, my gardens and gift myself time to simply breathe and sink more deeply into the quiet, seasonal lifestyle I am craving.
On my blog I write about my island life; my doings, the beings I love, the Earth I adore. I am a reader, gardener, hedge witch; a tree hugging cooker, sewer, knitter, baker, and…. even soap and candlestick maker. I’m never in want of something to do, which leads to far too many projects and the never-ending need to tidy up, which I do rather poorly my husband would tell you. Such is life with someone who never, ever wants to stop learning and growing. : )
So again, welcome. Come back and visit, I’d be honored. And someday perhaps, we can sit and share a lovely pot of tea.
