I had hoped to have this posted last weekend, but the destructive windstorm which swept down the island late on Friday the 4th , left much of Whidbey in the dark for days. Like so many, keeping warm and well-fed became the priority. We came through with no major damage and lost no trees, but many islanders were not so fortunate, and my heart goes out to those still recovering from the storm.
After the winds quieted, the candle-lit afternoons offered opportunity to sample teas, to test candles, to contemplate and plan. Once the power was back on, I was ready to set to work and my webshop is now refreshed for the holiday season and ready for you to wander through. Many favorite Holiday and Winter Teas are back, as well as a delicious new Cranberry Orange Black Tea. I do wish I had ordered more, because it is wonderful! Also available is a new Earl Grey Green. I love a good Earl Grey and have often been a little disappointed in the green tea versions I have tried, but this one is excellent. It has a lovely, fresh bergamot fragrance and flavor.
In The Apothecary Cupboard you will find the hand-crafted products that give me so much pleasure to craft. In addition to the soaps, balms, fragrance sprays and small beeswax candles, there is something new and rather special – Bayberry Beeswax Tapers. These sweet little tapers have added meaning and a soft glow to my family’s holiday evenings over the years and have been a pleasure to gift. Making them is truly a joy. You may read more about them and their history on the product detail page.

My dear locals, I continue to offer front porch pickup at my home on South Whidbey. Orders will be processed and filled as received to help me control inventory, and will then be set aside for you. Shipping will be charged, but those charges will be refunded following pickup. After you place your order, please contact me and I’m sure we can find a time which will work for both of us, and I will provide you with directions to my home. I look forward to popping out to wish you “Happy Holidays!”
Thank you all for being such a lovely part of my life. You are so appreciated. I send you heartfelt wishes for a warm and cozy Thanksgiving.
