Warm holiday greetings to you!
It never fails, sometime in October I begin to feel there is something I should be doing. Finally, it dawns on me…. I should be preparing my little Freeland teashop for the holidays. Of course, I no longer have that sweet little shop, and my online business has been shuttered since March of this year to attend to family needs. Old routines and habits linger long in one’s psyche. By the time November rolled around, a number of my lovely customers had inquired about the possibility of acquiring any of their favorite teas. Placing a few small orders and planning a small Holiday Boutique, did not take much encouragement, and by mid-month I was spending happy hours checking in inventory and blending teas and herbal blends. For me, there is no better therapy than to be surrounded by the color and fragrance of herbs, spices, and tea leaves.
The products of those happy hours in my studio are now ready for you! You will find a selection of holiday teas, house blends and beloved classics, and a few small gift items, as well. Quantities are very limited, so snap up your favorites while they are available.
The boutique will close to orders at 8:00pm (PST) on Saturday, December 14. Local customers may select “Pickup in store” at checkout and pickup in person or from my front porch vintage milkbox. Email or send me a message via the Contact form and we will find a convenient time for you to retrieve your purchase. All orders should be picked up by Wednesday, December 18.
For all the sweet notes I’ve received over this past year checking on my mother, thank you so much. It has been a poignant time watching a loved one slip away, but Mom is fairly healthy, is enjoying the sights and sounds of the season, and my family will soon have a gathering to toast her 90th Christmas. This experience has been a reminder to celebrate the simple things. An hour or two by the gas fireplace, sipping tea, and looking at children’s Christmas books can be a perfectly lovely afternoon, especially if it brings a smile to my mother’s face. The little things really are the big things.
From my home to yours, I wish you a warm, cozy and harmonious holiday season!
